‘Poetry and writing are my main sources for my motivation and hope, making them what I am truly passionate about. That thrill in expressing an alternate reality (imagination) in an atmosphere where others are blind to, hence, acknowledging its beauty’, says the Lilongwe based poet whose career started in 2015 when he was in secondary school.

Oswald bemoans the lack of markets for poetic content in the country. He goes on to say the fact that it is hard to earn a living on art like poetry in the country makes him contemplate sometimes on whether to carry on or not. He is however hopeful of a day poetry will be a big thing in Malawi where people like him will be able to live off the art. Click here to access his recent poetry project.
