Here’s an award winning Malawian gospel artist, who started his career in 2013 and has since blessed us with the songs My ZoeDaily and No Reverse, which have been the source on hope, have reminded us of the word of God and which I am sure are on your playlist, right now.

In this post together let us learn a few things from the interview I had with the gospel musician, Shammah Vocals.

‘Music is God’s gift to man, the only art of heaven given to earth, the only art of earth we take to heaven’

Walter Savage

For starters, Who is Shammah Vocals?

His birth name is Shammah Stola. He is the third born in a family of 3 girls and 2 boys. Currently, he holds a diploma in industrial laboratory technology. He is a Christian, a member of the Central Church of Africa Presbyterian (CCAP).
By profession, Shammah is a musician and a business personnel. And aside from music he is passionate about farming and he is set to take take his farming business to a large scale.

What made you join the music industry?

I realized I have potential after a period of singing in church, which I started in 2010. I had also noticed that the world is broken, people are walking with prostrated faces, although they smile they hurt inside. That’s why I come with the message of hope to the world.

What is your motto, what keeps you going?

I am always driven by the verse Jeremiah 29:11

‘For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’

Jeremiah 29:11

This is a verse that always gives hope and shows the mercy of a loving God amidst setbacks

What’s your biggest achievement so far?

Well I have achieved a lot. A huge achievement for now is scooping two awards being nominated for the first time and contesting with well established artists.

Are there any gospel artists that motivate you?

I am always motivated by Faith Mussa, though he is a gospel artist, he has his own style which makes him unique.

What project are you working on currently?

People should look out for my upcoming project Asamala Yehova which is not just about the music but is also a charity project.

Just a reminder!

Gospel music is an essential tool in bringing the society closer to God and closer to each other. It is also impactful in that it is a source of that much needed constant motivation which gives us the fuel to keep on moving forward.

Music has always been a matter of Energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed Fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio.
