“Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it… Once you learn that, you’ll never be the same again.”

These words by Steve Jobs are my motto.

Who is Chancy Ng’oma?

He is a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Catholic University of Malawi.

An author of a book titled “The Mind-set

A Cofounder of KCHKNA Private Limited Company and Parthenon Foundation

What Is KCHKNA Private Limited Company?

KCHKNA is a technology and renewable energy company. KCHKNA is short for “Kachikena” – meaning renewable in Chichewa. The idea came around in 2017 when I was in my third year of university. At the time I was working on my book, The Mind-set with my partner, Christopher Luwanga who is a Space Engineering student in Singapore and a cofounder of KCHKNA.

Where Is KCHKNA Going?

In the next five years we want to provide electricity using biomass energy. The goal is to produce about 50 Megawatts and help solve the energy problem that the country is facing at the same time we are also developing different technology systems like payment systems that will help to simplify human life.

What is Pathernon Foundation?

It is a startup organization that I Cofounded with Panjie Msowoya and Vitumbiko Mkandawire. The organization will focus on helping needy students as well as providing clean water sources to the people in all regions of the country.

In five years we want to help thousands of students to have access to education as well as make clean water sources available to all.

What Challenges have you faced to get to where you are now?

Well I have encountered many and different kinds of problems. The biggest would be being rejected multiple times, doubt from many and also fear. But through courage and persistence I was able to overcome them.

The biggest lesson I have learned in my life so far is to be willing to fail because failure is the definition of progress.

Is this something you saw yourself doing?

What I am today is something I’ve always envisioned myself to be from a young age. I thank God that I am able to do it. My role models have contributed to what I am today.

My parents and a good friend of mine Patience Nyirenda taught me discipline, from the late Kobe Bryant I learnt hard work and focus.

Truth be told I feel like I haven’t achieved anything despite writing a book setting up a company, these may seem like achievements to a lot of people but I feel it’s just the beginning of my journey and I owe myself a lot because I really need to do something that will change millions of people’s lives either in energy sector, technology as well as education.
